La Bandiera - What makes it so delicious?

Dipping into La Bandiera olive oil is one of life’s great pleasures.  It has a gorgeous golden colour and the flavour is fruity and substantial.  The area of Bolgheri enjoys a unique micro-climate which provides more hours of sunshine as it sets over the sea.  The hills protect the vegetation from the winter winds and the soil is rich and fertile.  These elements combine to provide the perfect environment for the olive groves which are harvested each year to produce the estate’s exclusive label, premium extra virgin olive oil.  

The olives are harvested from the moraiolo, leccino and razzo trees when they are just beginning to ripen from the end of October to the end of November in order to capture and preserve those characteristics so typical of olive oil from the region of Bolgheri – full-bodied with fruity and spicy aromas.

IGP recognition

La Bandiera olive oil has maintained the highest standards of production for a number of years and the quality of the oil has been certified with the IGP (Indicazione Geografica Protetta). This endorsement is granted in recognition of both the origin and quality of the oil. The acidity levels of La Bandiera olive oil is very low. This factor is always a major consideration when being assessed for IGP endorsement.

The harvest for this year will be produced and packaged ready for early December, just in time for Christmas gifts!  We offer 250ml and 500ml bottles (this size is produced with an elegant gift box) as well as 1 litre, 3 litre and 5 litre lattinas.
